Competency Metrics

I take competency assessments seriously, recognizing them as a cornerstone of professional development and organizational success. Our unique competency matrix at Platform.sh was designed to ensure every team member not only understands their role but excels in it. This approach allows us to identify where each individual is in their development journey, from basic awareness to expert mastery across various areas such as technical, professional, product, business, and role-specific acumen.

Our system grades each competency on a scale from one to five, enabling team members to pinpoint their current level and see where there's room for growth. This structured yet flexible framework supports continuous improvement and helps tailor development paths to individual needs, driving both personal and company-wide advancement. Through this system, we foster a culture where growth is part of our daily operations and where every team member is empowered to progress toward becoming a subject matter expert in their respective areas.

Before working directly with the Head of Product at Showpad to integrate competencies into Showpad, I created our own competency assessment utilizing Google Sheets. Here are the individual and manager assessements I created.
