Genius!!!
In my attempts to avoid doing work, I came across this plugin for WordPress that automatically posts your new articles to MySpace when you publish them. Since half of my reading audience comes from MySpace (seriously get a feed reader), I spend a lot of time reposting on MySpace every time I write something. So this has been a blessing from God. If you use MySpace and WordPress, get this plugin.

I’m a Twitter
I normally save technology posts for Wednesday’s, but I wanted to tell you about this while I was in Seattle. I got set up on twitter.com yeterday. Twitter is a mini-blogging system. It’s like your status in Myspace and Facebook, but it is on its own. It alows you to give friends short updates to what you are doing/thinking. They can subscribe to your feed and recieve a text message or IM message every time you update it (here is a full tutorial on twitter).
It’s been pretty fun using it yesterday and today. I like it because I’ve been able to send my wife Shannon the emails too. So she is able to share in my experience while I’m here. You can go to my profile at twitter.com/gregqualls and be able to keep up with me as I’m updating it frequently with what I’m doing and thinking.

Is it ok to register for a foot massager?
So Shannon and I like to go for walks in the mall. If you leave your wallet and purse in the car, it’s actually pretty fun. We get out of the cold and you can always stop for a fresh pretzel.
There is one thing that is mandatory in our walks at the mall. We have to stop at Brookstone and use the iSqueez. The iSqueez is a foot massager that does more than the usual moving nodules and vibrations. As the name states, it actually squeezes you feet.
At first this might sound like a cheap gimmick, but then you try it and you are stuck (literally and figuratively). There is a reason it is $399. Because people will pay that much for a few minutes in heaven (two minutes in heaven is better than one minute in heaven). It has taken a lot of self control to not pony up the money right there on the spot (and from the look in the salesman’s eyes…he expects me to).
Shannon and I actually planned on buying it (on ebay for much cheaper) as our Valentines day gift. It didn’t work out though. So now I’m thinking about trying to register for it for our baby shower. We registered for a 50″ plasma screen TV (what else is the kid going to watch Baby Einstein on). Why not this?

The Next Guitar Hero - Guitar Rising
My friend Dave Ortega (I’m telling you man…get a blog…or start posting on mine…or something) sent me an email with a link to a new video game that is coming out called Guitar Rising. Now I’m a huge fan of Guitar Hero (check out my stats…oh yeah). I’ve always said it is a way for mediocre guitar players (like myself) to play like rock gods. With this game, mediocre guitar players can now become a rock god. It even uses a real guitar. I must say. If the price is right, I’m going to be trying this one out (unless the company wants to give me a free copy….)

I need a Hangman
So when I was waiting in line for Obama the other day, I looked over at my friend and noticed that his iPhone was hanging from his belt loop. He had just recently went to MacWorld (the punk) and picked up a new item called the Hangman. Now I’ve tried a few different carrying cases since I’ve gotten my iPhone, but I must say this is the coolest one that I’ve seen so far. The best part is that it works with any iPodish product.
It actually connects to the dock part of the iPhone/iPod. Then the other side connects to a belt loop or anything else that you would want to connect it to. It also has a built in feature to help wrap up the extra slack from you head phones. Very nice. Right now I’m broke. But I plan on getting one soon…if I can’t steal one first.

Use a Feed Reader
I learned a little trick a few months ago that I thought I would share with everyone. If you’re like me, you probable have five or six different sites/blogs that you like to keep up with. So everyday…or multiple times a day, you go through your routine of checking all these different sites. You know there addresses by heart. You have a special folder in your bookmarks. Whatever you do…you spend lots of time trying to find out when there is new stuff posted on these sites. What if I was to tell you that you get all the latest information from your favorite site delivered to one place! Yes you heard me right. Oooonnnneee place. It’s called a feed reader. Let me explain…A feed reader allows you to “subscribe” to all your favorite sites/blogs. Then every time you open your feed reader, it will search the sites you have subscribed to and see if they have new content. If they do, it will grab that information and show it to you in the feed reader.
For example, I use Google Reader (yeah this could be a small endorsement). I have about 14 blogs that I try to keep up with. In the past I would have to go to all 14 sites to see if a new blog had been posted. Now all I have to do is open Google Reader and all the new articles are there…just like email. So how do you use it? Well first pick a feed reader of your choice. There are a lot out there. Then go to your favorite site and look for the RSS image (the orange thing that is pictured above). Click on this. Then copy the feed address from the address bar and input it (subscribe) into your feed reader. This is the long way. Most blogs and sites will actually give you links that you can click on for your particular feed reader that will subscribe you to that site. Hey look!!!! There are some in the left hand column right now. * All you have to do is click on the button associated with your feed reader and you are ready to go. No more hopping from site to site in hopes that new content might be there (sorry Christmas is still in the blood). So go get a feed reader and enjoy your blogs.*This post is from my previous site that had those individual link. Now you can do this through my feed itself.

iPhone Update
It has been a few months since Shannon and I got our iPhones. I must say….THEY STILL ROCK!!!! Yes I have become a complete sell-out for Apple. I would buy Apple underwear if they existed (especially since the kind I like are no longer made…there’s nothing harder than finding a new brand of underwear). The iPhone has completely changed my life.We use our iPhones all the time. The main features being email, maps, and searching the internet. I always have my email with me now. I love having the ability to respond to someone’s question right there on the spot.I don’t know how many times the google maps feature has kept me from driving around aimlessly for hours looking for a customer or a friend’s address. And I love being able to look up the answers to random questions right there on the spot. “How many ounces are in a pound?” “Does ExpressJet fly to Austin?” “How old is Barrak Obama?”If I didn’t have my iPhone, I would just be making stuff up like I use to. But now I actually know the answers.(So you’re wondering why doesn’t he use the phone feature…I do. We just get really bad service at our house…So I would rather text.)
