Ok so Los posted this video of the American Idol contestants singing “Shout to the Lord!” Now there is something seriously wrong with this. I’m not against them singing a worship song. I’m glad that they changed the lyrics back to say Jesus. They did a really good job singing it. The song even has a special place in my heart, but that that is where they went wrong.

This song is special to me because my youth group sang it at camp when I was a sophomore in high school. So that means that this song is on the cutting edge of 90′s Christian music (which we all know was like the cutting edge of 60′s secular music). So now the one of the world’s top rated shows just showed how Christianity is so in touch with today’s culture (sarcasm).  I just think American Idol could have picked something a little better…but oh well. That’s just my opinion. What’s yours?

They even do the Choir Side Step Dance!!!!

you are right on the money with this one. But doesn’t it make you feel warm and fuzzy? And shouldn’t that be what Jesus does for us all? :)

LOL I’m glad to see I wasn’t the only one a little upset… I’m with you on it was just so grrrr…. I don’t know. The 1st night ticked me off that they changed the words to My Shepard so as not to offend. Then they changed it back the 2nd night correctly but only the 3 sang it… Which if I’m not mistaken are the 3 that claim to be believers this year. I know that His word will not return void and that it what matters. I just hate when something so special becomes mainstreamed. Its like you and your spouse’s “love song” being trashed. Anyway I was havin issues too :-)

Hey I totally see your point on this one. They make Christianity seem old school when really its the hear and now. And dude you seriously made me want to start a blog of my own from your “S.O.A.P” blog. That was a great inspiration. I am going to start tomorrow and I am really excited. Thanks. And hey maybe Ill meet ya in heaven. Lol.
